PRIVATE LESSONS
Personalized piano instruction for children, teens, and adults, taught by classically trained musician, producer, and educator Austen Earp.
Lessons are designed to help students build a strong musical foundation while developing confidence, creativity, and a lasting connection with music. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all program, I shape each student’s lessons around their experience, interests, learning style, and individual goals.
Weekly private lessons are offered at my studio in Rome, Georgia.
A Personal Approach to Learning Music
Every student comes to music differently. Some are excited to play their favorite songs, some are drawn to classical repertoire, and others want to understand how music works so they can write, improvise, or create music of their own.
I believe great teaching begins by understanding the individual student. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, I tailor each lesson to a student's interests, experience, learning style, and long-term goals while building a strong foundation in technique, musicianship, and creativity.
Because I continue to actively work as a performer, producer, songwriter, and recording engineer, I intentionally keep my teaching studio small. Accepting a limited number of students each semester allows me to give each one thoughtful preparation, individualized instruction, and the attention they deserve.
Whether you're enrolling your child in their first lessons or returning to the piano as an adult, my goal is the same: to help you become a confident, independent musician who genuinely enjoys making music.
About Austen as a Teacher
I began studying classical piano at the age of seven and continued formal classical training for thirteen years. Since then I've spent nearly two decades performing, recording, producing, and writing music across a wide range of styles.
In addition to teaching from my private studio, I also provide private piano instruction through the Montessori School of Rome. Working with students in both private and school settings has reinforced my belief that every student learns differently and deserves an individualized approach.
My professional work as a musician and producer continues to shape the way I teach, allowing students to connect traditional piano study with creativity, performance, songwriting, and today's music industry.
My aim is to help each student become a more capable, curious, and independent musician.
